Vaccinations are a vital part of keeping your pet healthy. They protect against serious and often life-threatening diseases, some of which can be easily spread between animals. Regular vaccinations also help reduce the spread of illnesses in the wider pet community, keeping both pets and people safe.
Core dog vaccinations protect against diseases such as canine distemper, parvovirus, hepatitis, and rabies (where required for travel). Non-core vaccines, like kennel cough or leptospirosis, may be recommended depending on your dog’s lifestyle and environment. Your vet will advise which vaccinations are most suitable for your dog.
Core cat vaccinations protect against feline panleukopenia, calicivirus, and herpesvirus. Non-core vaccines, such as those for feline leukaemia virus (FeLV), may be recommended based on your cat’s age, health, and whether they go outdoors. Keeping up with vaccinations helps protect both your cat and the wider cat population.
Kittens and puppies usually start their first vaccines at around 6-8 weeks of age, followed by boosters a few weeks later. Whereas adult pets require regular boosters to ensure ongoing protection. We’ll create a tailored vaccination schedule for your pet based on their age, health, and lifestyle.
Side effects are rare and usually mild—such as slight swelling or tiredness. Severe reactions are extremely uncommon.
No. Even indoor pets are at risk, as diseases can be carried in on shoes or spread through shared spaces.
Don’t worry! We can create a catch-up plan to get your pet’s immunity back on track.
At GoVets, vaccines start at just £35, with discounted packages for puppies and kittens.
Yes! Most kennels and catteries require proof of up-to-date vaccinations, including kennel cough for dogs.
No, immunity fades over time. Annual boosters are essential to keep protection strong.
Pets need vaccinations at specific intervals to maintain protection against serious diseases. Puppies and kittens start with a primary course, then require regular boosters throughout life. The exact schedule depends on their age, health, and lifestyle. Read more in our vaccination schedule guide.
Core vaccinations protect pets from the most common and dangerous diseases, while non-core vaccines are recommended based on lifestyle and risk. Every pet’s needs are slightly different, so your vet will create a tailored plan. Read more in our pet vaccination guide.
The 5 in 1 vaccine (often called DHPPi) protects dogs against five serious diseases: distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, parainfluenza, and leptospirosis. It’s considered a core vaccine and is essential for keeping your dog safe. Read more in our 5 in 1 vaccination guide.
Don’t take chances with your pet’s health. Whether they need first-time vaccinations, annual boosters, or are traveling abroad, we’ve got them covered.

EXCELLENT Based on 1983 reviews Posted on Stacey DaviesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Amazing service and nice friendly staff! Would definetly recommendPosted on Daniel DriverTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. loved this vet from the moment I registered. My cat, Stormy, has had ear problems for quite a while. At first, I took her to another vet as I wasn’t registered anywhere yet and was still finding my way as a new cat owner. That vet suggested it was likely a wax build-up and prescribed antibiotic ear drops. They helped initially, but unfortunately the problem returned. After registering with GoVets, I brought Stormy in and from the moment we walked through the door, the staff were incredibly helpful and reassuring. Stormy gets very worked up in her travel carrier, so they kindly provided a room for us straight away to help her settle. The vet was absolutely lovely. He explained everything clearly and suggested that, since Stormy had already been on antibiotics, a lab culture would be really beneficial to check whether the infection was antibiotic resistant. I was so impressed with how thorough they were — and I’m so glad we did it. The results confirmed it was antibiotic resistant, which we wouldn’t have known otherwise. They prescribed stronger ear drops that targeted the infection properly, and within a week Stormy’s ears had completely cleared up! The whole team have been amazing with communication and support throughout the process, helping us every step of the way. I honestly can’t mention a single person because every member of staff has been so kind, helpful, and amazing. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly — it genuinely feels like they know you, which is really heartwarming. Thank you, GoVets! Stormy is back to her normal self, and I can finally relax knowing she’s feeling better and well cared for.Posted on PamTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our previous were clearly focused on money whereas all the staff here really take their time with your pets & help them feel comfortable. On our latest visit Sophie & Kayla were on the desk ready to check us in and helped when we needed some assistance with our dogs leg. They were also happy to provide fusses which our dogs loved. The vet we saw was Juan who we have seen before and we really trust him. He fully explains procedures and lets your dog take time to feel comfortable around him. 10/10 practice and I’d recommend to anyone & everyone.Posted on Terrie SpiersTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
