Gecko Services We Offer
Our Manchester clinic is equipped with the specific tools needed to treat the tiny and delicate anatomy of these small lizards:
- Dysecdysis (Shedding) Assistance: Safe removal of ‘stuck shed’ from toes and around eyes to prevent constriction and infection.
- Nutritional Osteodystrophy (MBD) Care: Diagnosis and correction of calcium deficiencies through specialised blood work and X-rays.
- Tail Loss & Wound Management: Expert treatment for ‘autotomy’ (tail dropping) to ensure the site heals cleanly without secondary infection.
- Parasite Screening: On-site faecal testing to check for Cryptosporidium and other internal parasites common in captive geckos.
- Dystocia (Egg-Binding) Treatment: Safe intervention for female geckos unable to pass eggs, utilising medical or surgical options.
- Habitat & Lighting Audits: Professional advice on UV gradients, humidity levels, and substrate choices to prevent impaction.
