This is often the first sign of an impending shed. However, if the skin remains dull or “stuck” (especially around the toes or tail tip), it may indicate a humidity or vitamin issue that needs veterinary attention.
We recommend an annual “Health & Husbandry” check-up. Reptiles are masters of hiding illness; a professional exam can catch subtle problems before they become emergencies.
A secure, ventilated plastic tub or “pet pal” is ideal. It is vital to keep them warm during the journey using a heat pack or a warm water bottle (wrapped in a towel to prevent direct contact burns).
